Sam Snyder - Recycled Fish Sam Snyder recieved his PhD from the University of Florida. His dissertation, "Casting for Conservation: Religion, Popular Culture, and the Politics of River Restoraiton," explored the politics of native fish and river restoration. He and his wife, Liz, live in Anchorage, Alaska where Sam is getting involved with grassroots initiatives of fish, river, and watershed stewardship. As a historian of fly fishing and environmental politics, he is a frequent contributor to American Fly Fisher, the journal of the American Museum of Fly Fishing. In Spring 2010, he will be the John H Daniels Fellow at the National Sporting Library in Middleburg, VA, where he will be researching the long and varied history of American angling and conservation. When he is not fishing, reading, or writing about fishing, you can usually find Sam in the garden or the kitchen.
